SQA Results 2020 – Update

Congratulations to all our candidates on their success in SQA courses this year. As a school, our results this year are broadly in line with previous years, when we achieved some of the best results in our school’s history. The quality of our pupils’ achievements is down to their hard work and the evidence they have produced throughout the year. Their grades are no less than they rightly deserve. Well done to you all.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope this finds you and your family safe and well.  I hope too that you had an enjoyable Easter holiday.

Term 4 begins today and we are hoping that all our learners will be doing their best to re-engage with their learning.  The importance of having a routine during these challenging times can’t be overstated, and we hope school-supported learning will be an important part of this.  If you are experiencing any difficulties in engaging with our learning – from nursery to secondary – please contact the school office for advice and support.

Dear Parents and Carers

After writing formally to you so often over the past few days, I am returning to the blog.

I just wanted to write a note of reassurance to you. I know a number of parents are concerned and frustrated (in equal measure) as they try to get online, access resources, sort out glitches and all the rest, so that they can get their children settled and working. Please do not worry too much about this – we’re in it for the long haul, I think. We will get there. And I promise we will be doing our best to sort out any issues you have.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Our third school term is now well underway, and our children and young people are hard at work!  P7 are busy preparing for their school show, P3 will be welcoming parents, carers and friends to their Fairtrade Toast Café on 6 March, and many in P4 are preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  We will also be celebrating World Book Day on 5 March!  Our secondary Fairtrade group will also be hosting a Fairtrade Coffee Morning on Shrove Tuesday – so we can be sure to use up the biscuits before the start of Lent!  During Lent we will be sending SCIAF boxes home to collect loose change – every penny makes a difference, so please support if you can.  In the coming weeks, we are looking forward to holding our own Careers Fair to help our primary and secondary pupils consider their future careers.  Senior pupils are completing National 3 and 4 courses, and many are preparing for National 5, Higher, Advanced Higher and other exams.  If you want to know how you can help your child prepare for exams, there’s some great advice from the National Parent Forum – click here.
