We are pleased to announce that Mr Seán Hagney, who has been Acting Headteacher and Campus Leader since July 2014, has been appointed to the permanent position of Headteacher of St John’s RC Academy and Campus Leader of North Inch Community Campus with immediate effect.
In her letter to parents, Quality Improvement Officer, Kathleen Robertson, said, “I am sure you will wish to join me in congratulating Mr Hagney and you can be confident the school will continue to grow and develop under his leadership.”
Originally from Glasgow, Mr Hagney worked in Our Lady and St Patrick’s High School, Dumbarton, before being appointed PT RE in St Andrew’s High School, Kirkcaldy, in 1997. In 2008, he was appointed Development Officer and subsequently Team Leader for Assessment and Achievement at Learning and Teaching Scotland (now Education Scotland), before joining St John’s RC Academy in 2010 as Depute Headteacher (School Improvement).
On his appointment, Mr Hagney said, “I am delighted to take up the permanent position of Headteacher and Campus Leader here at St John’s RC Academy and North Inch Community Campus. It is a genuine honour and a privilege to work for the good of the children and young people of this community, and to be able to work so closely with parents and colleagues to ensure we get it right for every single child in our care.
