Hong Kong-Scotland Connections

Seven Hong Kong pupils stayed with families of St John’s RC Academy and had an amazing exchange trip, visiting and experiencing life in Scotland for nine days. One of the highlights included a civic welcome by Cllr Bob Band, Depute Provost, here at North Inch Community Campus.  In 2016, seven pupils and a member of staff from St John’s Academy will visit our new friends in Hong Kong and experience their way of life. We would like to thank all the pupils and teachers from St John’s Academy who contributed in making our Hong Kong colleagues and pupils so welcome.

The staff and pupils would like to take the opportunity to thank all who were involved in the first exchange, including Perth Grammar School and Morrison’s Academy, along with our Hong Kong colleagues and pupils. As well as the students, it was great to welcome Ernest Kam, teacher, as well as his Headteacher, Kelvin Yau Siu Hung, of the Yan Chai Hospital Wong Wha San Secondary School, and the chief executive of the Yan Chai Hospital Board, Alfred Wong Wai Kin.  This was a very successful exchange with excellent links and relationships now in place – we hope to build on these links in the coming months and years.
